Marjorie Shaffer, 84, of Sheridan passed away at Sheridan Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2009.

Marjorie was born on February 26, 1925 to Gladys M. and Alba Craft in Sheridan, Wyoming. She graduated from Sheridan High School and also from Heiman’s Business School.

On April 10, 1943 she married Frank Shaffer in Champaign, Illinois, where he was stationed at the U.S. Navy Signal School.

Marjorie worked in several offices, including B.H.J., Inc and served on the Boys State Staff in Douglas for 14 years.

She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alba Doyne and Francis “Pete” Dale.

Survivors include her children, Sheryll (Chuck) Seagrave of Big Horn, Wyoming, Charlene Lee of Newport News, Virginia and Frank Jr. (Sharon) Shaffer of Sheridan, Wyoming; grandchildren, Susanne, Courtenay, Ryan, Hayden, Gretchen, Giesella and Gavin; great- grandchildren, Lia, Janna and Natalie.

Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and doing her word puzzles and reading.

She was known for her outgoing sense of humor and devotion to her family and her honesty.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
