Connie Jane Totman, 55, of 646 Valle Vista Ave., manager of Billings Merchant Alert Check Service, died Wednesday evening at her home. Death was from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the coroner.

Born in Salt Lake City. Utah, a daughter of Augustus and Leora Card, she married Donald Baxter in 1942 in Casper, Wyo., where she worked for the Chamber of Commerce and later was public relations manager for the Gladstone Hotel.

In 1960 she married Robert L. Totman in Casper; they came to Billings in 1961. Mrs. Totman also had been credit manager at Diana Shop.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Barbara Baxter of San Francisco, Calif.; a son, Robert L. of 646 Valle Vista Ave.; two brothers, William Card of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Donald Card of Sylmar, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Coolidge of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cuba H. Ogue of Shawnee, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a m. Saturday in Smith Downtown Chapel. A second service with burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sheridan, Wyo.
