Kenneth Eugene BURRUS 1925 - 2003 SHS 1942

Kenneth E. Burrus, 78, long-time Denver resident, died June 21 in San Francisco.

He was the beloved husband of his wife, Dorothy, for 56 years and proud father of Mary Burrus Babson, Nancy Burrus Fisher, and Susan Burrus Doyle. He was the grandfather of six: Katherine, Alexandra and Christopher Fisher, and Natalie, Peter and Caroline Doyle.

Mr. Burrus was born on February 18, 1925 in Sheridan, Wyoming. He met Dorothy Reynolds at the University of Wyoming where he attended as a scholarship student and athlete, and they married in 1946.

After service in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Burrus and his wife moved to Denver. Mr. Burrus completed his undergraduate degree and received an MBA from the University of Denver, where he also taught accounting.

He founded his own accounting firm where he practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years.

He was a long-time member of the Lions Club of Denver.

He was a devoted family man and a pillar of strength and dignity for his family.

A private memorial service will be held in San Francisco.
