SHERIDAN - A memorial service for Elta Rachel Steel, 72, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church by the Rev. Doug Goodwin. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Steel died July 12, 1996, at her home in Sheridan.

She was born Feb. 13, 1924. in Acme, the daughter of Fred and Mabel G. (Essig) Burden. She was raised in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School.

On April 2, 1945, she married George R. Steel in Sheridan. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1985.

Mrs. Steel was a member of the First Christian Church in Sheridan. Her family, friends, and church were most important in her life. She was a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital and also enjoyed reading, traveling, doing needlecrafts, and learning new things.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory R. Steel of Sheridan and Brett R. Steel of Florida: a daughter. Debra K. Vinke of St. Louis: a stepdaughter, Margo Kelley of Billings, Mont; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First Christian Church in care of Delphine Toner. First Interstate Bank. P.O. Box 2007. Sheridan. WY 82801. would lie appreciated by the family.
