Dorothy Lucille BAKER Becker 1926 - 1996 SHS 1942

SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Dorothy L. Becker, 70, will be held on Friday at 10 am. at the Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

Mrs. Becker died Aug. 20, 1996, at her Sheridan home of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Sheridan, the daughter of Thomas and Cathryn (Smith) Baker. She grew up on the family's Lone Pine homestead near Clearmont and in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1942. She worked at the WYO Theater, the Coke plant and Westbrook Motors. She moved to Richland, Wash., and worked in the "A bomb plant during World War II.

She returned to Sheridan and after the war married Charles Becker on June 13, 1948, in Sheridan. They lived in Sheridan and Iowa. In 1956, they moved to Stanton, Calif., where they lived until returning to Sheridan in 1984. Mr. Becker died in 1993.

She enjoyed politics and current events.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Woody and Claude and two sisters, Mable Snider and Gladys Fiala.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Monahan of Belle Fourche, S.D., and Susan Becker of Sheridan; two sisters, Dollie Rath of Cheyenne and Margaret Catron of Sheridan and two grandchildren.
