Opal Regina "Regi-Noni" AVERILL Tantarelli 1924 - 2016 SHS 1942

Regi passed away surrounded by loving family in her home on January 15, 2016.

She was born to Arnold and Lavina Averill in Sheridan Wyoming on April 29, 1924. Regi attended college at University of Nebraska studying nursing and art. Shortly after college she joined the Navy Waves, and later transferred to Camp Parks, San Francisco, where she met the love of her life, Alfred John Tantarelli.

Regi and Al were married for 60 years and raised five children. During those years she worked as a nurse, hardware and donut shop owner, caterer, mother, housewife and artist. Her earlier years of marriage were spent in San Francisco and Lake County, with the last 47 years residing in Santa Rosa.

Regi was passionate about gardening, especially her roses, Giants baseball, the 49ers, painting, family gatherings, and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving brother, Lewis; husband, Al; and grandson, Dominic.

Regi is survived by her children, Dan, Tom (Michelle), Mary (Mike), Ron (Nancy), Mark (Debbie); her 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at Saint Rose Catholic Church on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
