Albena Joanne ARZY Wolfe 1920 - 1998 SHS 1942

Albena J. Wolfe, 77, died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at her Corvallis residence.

She was born June 1, 1920, in Sheridan, Wyo., the daughter of Joseph and Mary Seiglig Arzy. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1942. She married Clarence W. Wolfe on Dec. 13, 1942, in Newcastle, Wyo. They made their home in Newcastle until the early 1970s. After raising her children and several others, she worked at the Weston County Hospital for 16 years. She then joined her husband in construction, traveling across the United States. She won first place in the Illinois state pie-baking contest.

The couple moved to Corvallis from Wyoming in January 1982. She was involved with the Rebekah’s Lodge, and was a member of the Corvallis Women’s Club.

Surviving are her husband Clarence of Corvallis; a daughter Sherry and her husband Richard Reisch of Corvallis; a son Eldon Wolfe of Corvallis; three sisters, Nellie Wolfe of Waskom, Texas, Frances Meich of Sheridan, Wyo., and Florence Young of Decker; three brothers, John Arzy, Raymond Arzy and George Arzy all of Sheridan, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Teddy, Joe and Bill Arzy. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Daly-Leach Chapel, 1010 W. Main St., in Hamilton, with Rev. Kathleen Jury officiating. Cremation will take place after the service with interment of the urn at Corvallis Cemetery, at a later date.
