Martha Elaine King died Friday, November 24, 2006 at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

A memorial service will be held in January 2007. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.

Elaine was born June 2, 1924 in Gillette, Wyoming, the daughter of John Louis and Evelyn Mae Wood. Elaine was a 1950 graduate of Central Missouri State College.

In 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert King. They moved to Iowa City and later divorced.

Elaine was employed at ACT in the editorial department

She was active in the Iowa City Community Theater for many years, both as a director and acting in major roles in several productions.

Elaine is survived by her sister, Evelyn Juroshek and a niece, Judi Harper, both of Washington State.
