Sheridan native Virginia May (Reed) Ruby, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. today at The Gathering Place in San Bernardino, Calif. Interment is 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in San Andrus, Calif.

Born May 20, 1923, in Sheridan, she graduated from Sheridan High School and married Delbert Ruby of Buffalo. They lived in this area until 1956.

She moved to Billings, then to California in 1963, eventually settling for the rest of her life in West Point, Calif.

Survivors include two sons, Garry of California and Ron of Oregon; a daughter Judy (Ruby) van der Water of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
