SHERIDAN -- No services for Stanley McBride Plott, 85, are planned per his request.

He died April 11, 2008, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1922, to Joseph and Martha Plott in Acme.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941, and served during WWII as a B-24 Gunner.

He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in Law in 1949.

He married Janette Fairbank on Feb. 21, 1947, in Laramie.

His work history was diverse, including, working as an insurance salesman, a railroad crewman, an alcoholism counselor, and a ceramic shop owner.

He enjoyed doing lapidary work, fly tying, hunting, fishing, dachshunds, and had an interest in global economics.

He is survived by his wife, Janette of Sheridan; his children, Diane Hawkins of Long Beach, Wash., Cynthia Misty Plott-Barbula and her husband of Sheridan, Bruce Plott and his wife of Evanston, and Lynne Skaggs of Sheridan, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Maurice and Glenn Plott.

Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
