Virginia L LILLEY Stevens 1922 - 2018 SHS 1941

Virginia L Stevens, 91, a long time Sheridan, WY resident, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Heritage Club, Denver, CO.

She was born in Model, Wyoming, and December 24, 1922 to Marie Lilley and Albert "Curly" Lilley. She was raised in Acme,WY and went to high school in Sheridan where she met her husband, Richard "Dick" Stevens. They were married on February 10, 1940, in Hardin, Montana and settled in Acme. They had 3 children that were born in Sheridan, Patricia, Richard and Diana. The family also lived in Montana, Washington and Arizona.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts, camping, fishing, traveling, especially the trips to Alaska and camping in the Big Horns. Virginia and Dick returned home to Sheridan in 1988. Dick died in 2003.

In May, 2012, she moved to Centennial, CO to live with her daughter Diana.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles Lilley and Gerald Lilley and grandson Richard Stevens.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Anderson (Ron), Richard Stevens (Janet) and Diana Stevens: brothers William Lilley of Sheridan and Larry Lilley of Albany, OR: sisters Alice Hyder of Sheridan and Betty Snodgrass of Ramona, California.; grandchildren Kenny Smith, Sherie Mondt, Debbie Halpine, Steven Smith and Teresa Stevens; nine Great Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also two sisters-in-laws; Jeanne Lilley and Barbara Lilley and special friend Ethel Barbee. And her four legged companion, Pebbles.

Funeral service will be 11:00am on Saturday (April 12th) from Champion Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Forman officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Virginia may be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter.
