Helen Bernice LEGOCKI Dubrowski 1921 - 2013 SHS 1941

Helen Bernice Dubrowski, 90, died Monday, July 01, 2013, at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center where she had resided the past five years.

Born August 17, 1921 in Kooi, Wyoming, she was one of eight children born to Michael and Antonio (Sosnicki) Legocki. She graduated from Sheridan High School, then moved to Thermopolis where she worked at the Wyoming Pioneer Home. During WW II she worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” in Cheyenne.

Moving to Salt Lake City, she was trained as a nurse’s aide and utilized her training while living in California. Returning to Thermopolis, she retired as an aide, and became a Foster Grandparent in the Hot Springs County School District #1.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Tanner, Sterling, CO; sisters, Rose Merriott, El Sobrante, CA, Ann Sedar, Billings and Stella Novakovich of Thermopolis; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Michael and Joseph Legocki; and sisters, Frances Johnson and Antia Legocki.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at a later date.
