Ruth G. Atchison, 90, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Westview Health Care Center.

Ruth was born November 22, 1922 on the ranch her grandparents homesteaded in the 1880's west of Buffalo to parents Grace (Carman) and Lee Elmer Georgen. She graduated from Sheridan High in 1941 and received a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1944.

Ruth married Bob Atchison on September 2, 1944, and had one son Jon L. Atchison. She and Bob were involved in ranching until his death in 1992.

Her son died in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Leland W. Georgen, in 1981.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Leone Atchison, of Washington, DC, and Robert Atchison of Turin, Italy, her remaining brother, Kenneth E. Georgen, of Antioc, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a longtime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and was active in the Sheridan County and Wyoming Cattlewomen's Associations.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment was in the Georgen Family plot in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo.
