SHERIDAN - Mass of Christian Burial for Sheridan resident Irma "Betty" Berta, 81, will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan by Fr. Ron Stolcis. Interment will follow in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan.

She died July 6,2004, at Sheridan Manor.

Born Nov. 5, 1922, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Tomori) Gazdik.

On June 21, 1941, she married William J. Berta in Stephenson, Mich.

She loved dancing, flower-gardening, and cooking.

Survivors include two sons, Charles "Chuck" Berta of Ranchester and William Berta of Idaho; daughter, Linda Schwamb of Sheridan; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Gazdik of Sheridan; sister, Mary Berta of Macon, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Theresa Barbula; and a brother, Louis Gazdik.
