Philip J. GARRIFFA 1921 - 1984 SHS 1941

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Philip J. Garriffa worked for Montana Dakota Utilities for 35 years, planning to retire this year.

He was a member of Elks Lodge, past president of Kendrick Municipal Golf Course, served on Cloud Peak Bowling Lanes board, was past president of Electrical Workers Union, and coached Little League baseball for many years.

He served in 8th Air Force during World War II and enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf.

Mr. Garriffa, 62, died Sunday in Billings Deaconess Hospital.

He was bom in Sheridan, a son of Joseph and Catherine Garriffa. He attended Holy Name Grade School graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Heimans Business College, Sheridan.

He married Doris Brown in Middlesex, England, June 17, 1944.

Survivors include his wife and three sons, Brian, Bruce and David, all of Sheridan; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Carmella) Mediate of Sheridan, and Mrs. Howard (Josephine) Ringley of Cheney, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Henne Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
