SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Unity of the Valley Church in Eugene for Milt Cunningham of Springfield, who died April 22 of age-related causes. He was 87.

He was born April 12, 1923, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Frank and Grace Ridley Cunningham. He and his wife, Kathleen, were married in August 1949 in Minneapolis.

He graduated from college with a master’s degree in English. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an English teacher at Thurston High School.

Survivors include his wife and a son, Loren of Eugene.
