Graduated from Sheridan High School and its football team in 1941.

He moved to California.

On the day after Pearl Harbor Day, he signed up on his 20-year career in the U.S. Navy Air Force, during which he married his high school sweetheart, Genevieve Timm.

Ed is survived by his son, Robert Chesler, his brother Archie Chesler, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering for celebration of his life on May 20, 2006 in Alameda, California.
