Elizabeth "Bettie" Higgins, 86, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Bettie was born in Sheridan on December 10, 1922 to Albert and Lizzie Bull. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School.

She married Richard "Dick" Higgins on January 29, 1947 in Sheridan and they raised two children together.

She was a Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed reading and playing Bridge.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Jim Higgins.

She is survived by her daughter, Cleo deLagerheim and her husband, Bruce, of Golden, CO; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Per Bettie’s request cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Her cremains will be scattered over the Bighorn Valley. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made in Bettie’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
