Jean Weltner, 90, of Sheridan died Monday, March 15, 2010, in Westview Health Care Center.

Arrangements are pending with Kane Funeral Home.

Born May 22, 1919, to Fred and Emma (Timm) Weltner in Decker, Mont., he graduated from Sheridan High School.

During World War II he worked on airplane engines in Utah, later returning to Sheridan.

He married Annabelle Connolly on April 18, 1948, in Sheridan.

Mr. Weltner worked as an appliance, television and radio repairman for Montgomery Ward for many years. He later worked for Sheridan Ranch Supply as a farm equipment mechanic.

He enjoyed taking family to the mountains for camping, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his wife and an infant brother.

Survivors include a sister, Francis Carson of Sheridan; two daughters, Barbara Standish of Billings and Mary Johnston of Dayton; one son, John Weltner of Albany, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
