Ross Jay WELLER 1921 - 2009 SHS 1940

Ross J. Weller, 87, died March 24, 2009 at Regent Care Center in Reno, Nevada of natural causes.

Ross was born on the family Ranch in Arvada, Wyoming, August 19, 1921. He was the son of Arthur D. and Helen F. Weller. Ross had an older brother, Arthur S. Weller and a younger sister, Marian Weller Colovich, all deceased. The family moved to Reno in 1938.

Ross served his country during World War II as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the European Theater and was awarded two purple hearts and was a disabled veteran. Ross then graduated from University of Nevada Reno. He also worked for the Internal Revenue service for many years. Ross loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

Ross is survived by his wife, Dolores Lockhart Weller of 57 years; son, Wayne R. Weller, both of Reno; daughter, Dawn Weller Johnson (Randy) of Littleton, CO; two grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson Wallace (Drew) of Mansfield, TX and Matthew Eccles Johnson of Littleton, CO; two greatgrandchildren, Dallin and Benjamin Wallace, also of Mansfield, TX; nephews, Arthur R. Weller of LA and R.J. Colovich of Reno, NV; three nieces, Sandra Colovich Hamilton of Reno, NV, Karen W. Wolf of MA, and Kathryn W. O'Boyle, oflL.
