Margaret Louise STERLING Working 1921 - 2000 SHS 1940

SHERIDAN - A memorial service will be announced later for Margaret Sterling Working, 78. who died Feb. 22. 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan.

She was born Oct. 11. 1921. in Buffalo, to Charles L. "Lew" and Myrtle Brokaw Sterling. In 1929, the family moved to Sheridan, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1940. She then attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. In 1942, she went to Washington, D.C. The agency she was with moved to Kansas City. Mo., where she lived for 3 1/2 years.

She married SSt. Fred W. Working, U.S. Army Air Corps, on Aug. 31. 1943. They moved to Sheridan in l946 and she had lived there since. She worked at Carroll's Furniture. Kenneth Cox CPA, Padlock Ranch office, Zowada Plumbing & Heating. John Byrtus CPA and Centennial Engineering and Research. She retired in 1990.

She was a memlier of Beta Sigma Phi for more than fifty years, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Civic Theater Guild Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Vicki Louise Working.

Survivors include her former husband and their son. Zane Working, both of Sheridan; her sisters, Betty Lou Sterling of Bozeman, Mont., and Mary Helen Lewis of Olathe, Kan.; a brother, Robert Sterling of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a niece and nephew.
