Eloise Elaine "Dolly" ROBINSON Beartusk 1922 - 1991 SHS 1940

LAME DEER - Eloise "Dolly" Beartusk, 69, of Lame Deer, died Thursday morning, Jan. 16, 1991, of cardiac arrest at her home.

Dolly was born March 13, 1922, in Lame Deer, to Major and Nellie Robinson, who ranched on Muddy Creek on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation. She attended grade school on Muddy Creek and in 1940 Dolly graduated from Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Wyo.

Dolly married Kenneth Beartusk in Lame Deer on June 28, 1944. They lived all their lives in the Lame Deer area, where they raised seven children.

Dolly worked for 36 years as a secretary for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She retired from the bureau in October of 1991.

Dolly enjoyed taking care of her home in Lame Deer and particularly the flower gardens and her many - house plants. She spent a great deal of time with her grandchildren and enjoyed every minute.

Dolly is survived by two daughters, Debbi Wertman of Lame Deer and Janelle Jensen of Colstrip; five sons, Ron and Dana Beartusk of Lame Deer, Keith Beartusk of Billings, Terry Beartusk of Sheridan, Wyo., and Leslie Beartusk of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Juanita Lonebear of Lame Deer; two brothers, Cornelius Robinson of Ashland and James Robinson of Busby; an aunt, Dorothy Clark of Lame Deer; an uncle, Wilford Spang of Lame Deer; and 22 grandchildren.

Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1986, her parents and her brothers, Dave and Buell Robinson.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, with funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 am Monday, Jan. 20, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer. Interment will follow at the family cemetery on Muddy Creek. A reception will follow at the church in Lame Deer for family and friends.
