SHERIDAN -- A funeral service for Frank Demchok, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Father Ronald Stolcis officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the New Eagle's Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with military rites by the Wyoming National Guard and the American Legion Post No. 7.

He died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan, and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1940.

In December 1941, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and arrived in Scotland in September 1942. He served 33 months with the 8th Air Force in England with the 93rd Bomb Group, 329th Squadron. He was discharged on Sept. 5, 1945.

On Feb. 9, 1947, he married D. Lerrene (Rene) Powell in Sheridan. He went to work for the C.B.&Q-Burlington Northern Railroad in Sheridan where he became a switchman and yardmaster. He retired from the railroad after 41 years of service on Sept. 12, 1986.

He was a life member of the Eagle's Lodge No. 186 and the UTU Union Local 951. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and was everybody's "honey do's" handyman.

Survivors include two daughters, Frankie Marks of Salt Lake City, and Gayle Brantz of Sheridan; one brother, Bill Demchok of Sheridan; three sisters, Kate Schubert of Bremerton, Wash., Alice Mentock of Cody, and Virginia Doyle of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren, and 3.5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two brothers.
