OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - November 15, 2002

GILLETTE - A celebration of life for Gillette resident Margaret Ruth "Peggy" Crawford, 78, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Gillette.  At her request, cremation has taken place.

She died Nov. 13, 2002, at Pioneer Manor.

Born Jan. 21, 1924, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Carl L. and Jeanne (Anderson) Crawford.  In 1995, she attended Sheridan High School's 55th class reunion.

After graduating from high school at age 16, she worked at various jobs, including Lockheed-Burbank; Parker APP in New York City during World War II; and, later, Standling Oil and Gas and True Drilling in Casper.

For many years, she worked for oral surgeons, and then at Rocky Mountain Business Forms in Denver.  Her heart and soul were in her family's homestead in Story, where she lived many happy years after returning to Sheridan County in 1979.

An avid duplicate bridge player, she loved to visit with her granddaughters and, especially, enjoyed their trips to Story.

Survivors include her son, David Carl Crawford of Laramie; two daughters and their husbands, Barbara Mertz and Cynthia Porter Stees, both of Gillette; and three granddaughters.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Sheridan.  Cards and letters may be sent to Cyndie Stees, 2390 Wolff Road, Gillette 82718.
