Estelle and Lee Coffman

A True Love Story

Estella Byrtus Coffman was born in Kooi, Wyoming on May 28, 1920. Lee Coffman was born in Wheatland, Wyoming on October 4, 1922. Both of them eventually lived in Sheridan, Wyoming where they attended school. They were friends, and became High School sweethearts.

When Lee joined the Army Air Corp in 1943, they decided to get married. In following years, they had five children, Annette Yori, William (Alice) Coffman, Greg (Joanna Jensen) Coffman, Christopher Coffman and Mark Coffman.

Both participated in many school and church organizations and activities. They were very loving, friendly and generous. They traveled, and loved spending time together. Stella focused on her church, Church of God. She was a model mother and homemaker. A true goal, and achievement for her times.

For Lee, there was nothing to equal a trout stream in Wyoming, with a good fly-fishing hole. He was a wonderful provider, and father. He worked as a procurement officer for several government facilities and retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1974. He found God in the beauty of the mountains, trees and sky.

On January 29, 2013 Stella died of pneumonia. Overcome with a broken heart and loss of his love and best friend, he joined her on February 1, 2013. They were married for almost 70 years.

They were preceded in death by two sons, Christopher and Mark.
