Junior Raymond CLARK 1922 - 2005 SHS 1940

June 13, 1922 - Nov. 29, 2005

WOODBURN - J. Raymond Clark was born in Gillette, Wyoming. He was the firstborn son of Charles Raymond and Faye Clark.

Ray is survived and loved by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Clark; son, Stephan; daughter, Sue; brother, Don; sister, Floramae; daughters-in-law, Norma and Cathy; and several nieces and nephews.

Ray loved horses and at 18 he joined the Calvary National Guard in Wyoming. The guard brought him to Oregon in 1941 where he joined the Army and fell in love with Dorothy. They were married on September 19, 1942 in Olympia, Washington. Shortly after, Ray left for his tour of duty in Europe.

Ray and Dorothy lived in Roseburg and Medford, Oregon until 1953 when they relocated to California and lived in the San Francisco Bay and Central Valley area until they returned to Woodburn, Oregon in 1998.

Ray was a very attentive husband and would do anything for Dorothy. Ray demonstrated to his children that being kind and taking care of others was the greatest gift we have to give. Ray got his spunk and sense of humor from his father. If you asked Ray how he was feeling, he would often answer that he was "finer than frog hairs' 0 ." Ray had a caring, generous spirit that touched the hearts of family, friends, and people he greeted while running errands or while walking his dogs, Milo and Maggie.

The family wishes to extend their special love and gratitude to all of Ray's caregivers, especially Pauline and Cathy. Ray has requested that there not be a service . He will be placed in the Willamette National Cemetery in the spring of 2006.

The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Humane Society of the Willamette Valley Animal Shelter at 4246 Turner Road S.E., Salem, OR 97301.

"He whom you loved and have lost is no longer where he used to be; now he will be wherever you are."
