Clayton Raymond WOLFF 1920 - 1990 SHS 1939

June 26, 1920 - February 23, 1990.

FORSYTH - Clayton R. Wolff and his wife lived on the family ranch east of Colstnp until 1958. He then had various employment until going to work in Colstrip for Bechtel Corp. in 1973 as a material supervisor. He retired in 1985 and has lived in Forsyth since.

He was a member of the Federated Church of Forsyth, the Allanby Commandry, the Royal Arch Masons, the Al Bedoo Shrine of Billings, the Forsyth Young Men's Club, and the VFW Post and American Legion Post of Forsyth. He was a charter member of the Rosebud County Shrine Club and the Rosebud-Treasurer Wildlife, serving several times as president He was a past Master of the Hiram Lodge, No. 52 AF & AM, a life-time member of Veritas Council and captain of the Muds Bugs Unit. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Mr. Wolff, 69, died Friday in the Miles City Veterans Medical Center following a long illness.

He was born in FrankelL Texas, a son of William G. and Bertha Spracklen Wolff. He moved with the family at an early age to Lee Creek, near Birney. He attended country school and the St Labre School, graduating from Sheridan High School in Wyoming in 1939.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1941, serving in World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to the family ranch.

On June 8, 1947, he married Freda Degele in Billings.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Bowen of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Eddie (Nancy) Arnoldt of Miles City and Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Kemp of Glenrock, Wyo.; his mother, Mrs. W. G. Wolff of Billings; a sister, Mrs. Edith Twomey of Billings; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Beals Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Forsyth Cemetery with Masonic and Veterans graveside rites.
