SHERIDAN -- Services will be held later this spring for Betty Lornell Towns, 84, of Sheridan. Inurnment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Jan. 15, 2006, at her residence.

She was born in Kansas to Victor M. and Sarah A. (Lawrence) Towns. The family moved to Sheridan when she was a young girl, and she attended Sheridan schools, graduating from Sheridan High School. She then attended business college in Seattle, Wash. She returned to Sheridan and worked at the VA Medical Center, later moving to Denver for a time before returning to Sheridan to be near her parents.

Survivors include one brother, Richard Towns of Sheridan; three sisters, Emmojean Lilley of Vancouver, Wash., Patricia Ann Uzzell and Margaret E. Strickland, both of Clifton, Colo., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
