Janet S. Kukuchka, 89, of Sheridan passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Sheridan Manor.

Janet was born June 4, 1922 , the first born to John and Bethel (Ruff) Symons. She grew up on the family farm on Dutch Creek east of Sheridan. She attended Plum Creek School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1939. After graduation she attended the Park School of Business.

Janet retired from the Sheridan County ASCS office after working there for over twenty years as the County Agent.

She enjoyed reading, working in her yard and flower garden, being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the many years spent at their mountain cabin.

Janet married John Kukuchka on June 6, 1942 in Columbus, MT. John passed away in 1994.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine (Cole) Benton of Buffalo, two grandchildren; Tyler (Jackie) Benton of Buffalo, and Lacey Benton of Sheridan and great grandchildren Kale and Kade Benton. She also leaves behind two brothers; Edgar Symons of Sheridan and Charles Symons of Seattle, WA along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Janet will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Saur officiating. A reception will follow in the Kane Reception Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter of Buffalo, 109 Flatiron Dr., Buffalo, WY 83834 or to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Rd., Sheridan, WY 82801.
