POMONA, Kan. - Dorothy "Agnes" Barrigan, age 83, of Pomona, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1920, in Dietz, Wyo, the daughter of Stewart and Mema Patton (Gault) McDowelL She grew up in Sheridan, Wyo, and graduated from the Sheridan High School in 1939. She later moved to Hardin, Mont, where she later met her husband.

On Aug. 22, 1948, she was united in marriage to James Edward "Jim" Barrigan at Hardin. They shared nearly 44 years of married life together before the death of her husband on Aug. 17, 1992.

Agnes was a homemaker and farmwife. She also worked as a secretary for the Social and Rehabilitation Office in Montana. She also worked at other occupations during her lifetime.

She resided in Hardin and Billings, before moving to Ottawa in 1978. Agnes and Jim made their home in Pomona since 1988. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and fishing with her husband and family.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean Barrigan of Pomona, Merna Kincaid of Hardin and Janie Fiehler and her husband Bob of Wellsville; two sons, Tom Barrigan of Pomona and 'Jim Barrigan of Billings; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and an infant son, Patrick Barrigan.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 10, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona. Mrs. Barrigan will lie instate at the funeral home after 4 pm Friday.
