Gwendolyn E. DAVEY Randall 1921 - 2008 SHS 1939
;

Gwendolyn E. Randall, 87 of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2008 at Sheridan Manor after a short illness.

Gwen was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Wilbur Davey and Etta (Boling) Davey. She moved to Acme, WY when she was a small child and attended school there. She graduated from Sheridan High School and married Jack Randall in 1939.

Gwen retired from Mountain Bell, after 35 years of being an operator on the switch boards. While working for Mountain Bell, she was a grievance officer for the labor union. She stood firm on her belief of improving the work environment.

She loved her garden and yard and took pride in her flower beds.

Gwen was a crossword puzzle addict, a veracious reader, and loved garage sales.

She was an avid news watcher and was not afraid to voice her opinion on issues.

During political elections, she volunteered to help with the voting process.

She was Grandma and Aunt Gwen to all and will be greatly missed.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a daughter, Sharon Vogelsang; a son, William Randall; an infant brother, Richard Davey; and brothers, Hershel and Chet Davey.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Randall and Twila Owen and her husband, Steve, all of Sheridan; her five grandchildren, Lyndsay Brown and her husband, Jesse, of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Owen and his wife, Lisa, of Sheridan, Kelsey Dexter and her husband, Athen, of Sheridan, Valerie Miller of IA, and Vincent Vogelsang also of IA; her brother, Dewey Davey, of CO; her sisters-in-law, Marge Davey and Pat Randall, both of Sheridan and Dolly Davey of CO; and so many nephews and nieces that she loved like her own, but there is not enough room in the paper.

Memorial services will be held at Kane Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
