Doris Shirley CRAWFORD Klepinger Newman 1922 - 1990 SHS 1939

CASPER - Memorial services for Donis Shirley Klepinger Newman, 73, will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Frank Hoover from the First United Methodist Church officiating. There will be a reception following the service at Asbury Center next to the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Newman died Jan. 4, 1990, at Life Care Center.

She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Sheridan, to Carl L. and Jeanne (Anderson) Crawford. She moved to Casper after graduating from high school.

She married Quentin L. Klepinger in 1940 in Sheridan and he died in 1977. She married Lewis Newman in November, 1987, in Casper.

Mrs. Newman enjoyed quilting, fishing, gardening, the outdoors and her summer home in Story.

She helped organize a fundraiser for the Story Fire & Ambulance Dept., and she worked as a paralegal for Gerry Spence at the Beech Street Law Offices.

She played violin in the Casper Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. She and her husband were active in the Elks in both Casper and Sheridan; she volunteered at the Nicolaysen Art Museum and the Sheridan Inn and she was a member of the gardening club in Story.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis, of Casper; a daughter, Jan D'Alessandro of Elizabeth, Colo.; a sister, Peggy Crawford of Sheridan and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Program or the American Cancer Society, Wyoming Division.
