Gerald Alvin "Jerry" CONNOR 1921 - 2003 SHS 1939

May 25, 1921 - January 5, 2003.

Gerald "Jerry" Connor was born in Rawlins, Wyo., to Glenn and Nella Connor. He grew up in Story, Wyo., with brother Vernon and sisters, Eris and Patsy, and graduated from Sheridan High School. During World War II, he served in the European Theater of Operations as a surveyor.

After the war, he married Esther E. Schneider from Torrington, Wyo., and he returned to the University of Wyoming to finish his civil engineering degree. After graduation, he began a 30-year career with the federal government, working in the USDA, BIA and Indian Health Services.

Jerry, Esther and their two daughters, Marla and Donna, moved to Billings in 1956. After retiring from the government, Jerry worked as an engineer for Morrison Maierle, Inc., while pursuing his favorite hobbies: golf and bowling. He moved to Minnesota in July 2002 to be near family.

Jerry will always be remembered by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, love of card games and big smile.

He is survived by daughters Marla Davenport (John), St. Paul and Donna Kellogg (Rick), Conrad; grandchildren Heather Hill (Scott), Helena, Kriste Henson (Neil), Los Alamos, N.M., Jim Kellogg (Jamie), Ledger, Carri Quinn (Greg), Menomonie, Wis., Joe Kellogg, Bozeman; great-grandchildren Sierra Oehlke, Cassie and Delaney Quinn, and Aidan Henson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends including Kady, his dog.

Memorials may be sent to the Montana Rescue Mission, Senior Helping Hands, or the First United Methodist Church in Billings.

Visitation will be from 10 to the 11 a.m. service time, Thursday, Jan. 9, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings.

Interment will be in Mountview Cemetery.
