Peter George Booras was born on Dec. 14, 1920, in Sheridan, Wyo., to George and Anastasia Booras. He grew up and received his education in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1939. After high school he joined the Army and served during WWII in the 861st Field Artillery Battery.

He was married on June 19, 1942, in Sheridan to Esther Aspaas and they made their home in Wyoming and Montana where he worked as a meat salesman and later as a printer for the Billings Public School District. They retired and moved to Buffalo in 1986 and traveled to San Diego in the off season. They spent as much time as possible with their children and grandchildren scattered in several different states. Mrs. Booras passed away in January of 1992 and Pete continued to live in Buffalo and San Diego until the time of his death.

Pete was an avid golfer and cribbage player, sports critic, reader, and loving father and grandfather. He was quick to offer much appreciated kind words of support to his loved ores. Just as frequent were his notorious quick-witted statements which could easily catch even those familiar with his humor, off-guard. Pete didn't say much, but when he did it told volumes.

He was a member of the Buffalo Golf Club and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Nikki Ellis and her husband, Chuck of Buffalo, Suzanne Leathers and her husband, Bob of Casper and Jayne Milium and her husband, Rob of San Diego; two brothers, Gus Booras of Billings and Sam Booras of Denver; two sisters, Teddy Karakusis and Angeline Stallos. both of Denver; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Esther Booras.
