Virginia May WOOD Arciniega Kelly 1920 - 2007 SHS 1938

Virginia M. Kelly, 86, of Cheyenne since 1952 died March 26 in Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Denver.

She was a secretary and receptionist for the state of Wyoming.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge Magic City No. 5, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1881, Wyoming Jackalopes, and Beta Sigma Phi -Beta Master Chapter.

She volunteered for the Chamber of Commerce, Welcome Wagon, American Cancer Society, Girl Scouts and Parent Teacher Organization.

She loved collecting owls, camping, cooking, reading, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kelly is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John J. Arciniega Jr., and his wife, Judy, and Lawrence L. Arciniega, all of Cheyenne; daughter, Dennise K. Kelly of Cheyenne, Vicki M. Weitz of Arvada, Colo., Kyle R. Boyd of Front Royal, Va.; brothers, Ernest M. Wood of Las Vegas, Donald M. Wood, his wife, Louie and their daughter, Dawn of Palo Alto, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, John Ivan Arciniega of Cheyenne, Travis Arciniega of Denver, Angie (Mat) Wood of Cheyenne, Val Weitz and Michael Weitz both of Arvada, Colo., Noah Hallberg of Cheyenne, Andrea Boyd and Joshua Boyd, both of Front Royal, Va., James Frey, Josephine Frey and Jerald Frey, all of Cheyenne; four great-grandchildren, Keigan Arciniega, Iris Hallberg, Kayden Hysong and Riley Weitz; and a cousin, Jessie Thompson and family of Surprise, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Weitz; parents, Robert O. Wood and Rachel M. (Steele) Herbst; and brother, Robert Wood.
