Former Sheridan resident Harold L. Walton, 82, of Aurora, Colo., died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, of cancer at the Broomfield (Colo.) Nuring Center.

Cremation has taken place and services were at Trinity United Methodist Church in Denver. Inurnment was at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Mr. Walton was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Sheridan to Ira O. and Beulah (Bilyeu) Walton. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan.

He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration until retirement.

He married Doris E. Pyle Feb. 2, 1948, in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Steve of Broomfield; two daughters, Wanda LaLaine of Denver and Diane Brown of South Carolina; two sisters, Gloria Sickel of Sheridan and Marcia Chalfant of Gillette; and three grandchildren.
