Harriett Luella WALKER Crawford 1920 - 2000 SHS 1938

SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Harriett Luella Crawford, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Circle of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Viewing is from 630 to 8 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home.

She died June 17, 2000, at Deaconess Medical Center in Billings, Mont.

She was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Sheridan, the daughter of Joseph Sammuel and Elsie Meyer Walker. She was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married William F. Crawford on Sept. 17, 1954, in San Diego and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1970.

She started her career working for Peter Kiewit. In 1949, she started working at the Sheridan County Court House in the county assessor's office. She served under six assessors. At the death of Nellie Campbell, she served as appointed assessor for six months. She served the county for 51 years before her retirement.

She loved to travel, and enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time and visiting with her many friends. She was devoted to her companion and friend, her dog, Celeb.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Carl L Walker on Feb. 2, 1992.

Survivors include her niece, several first, second and third cousins and her many friends.
