TUCSON, Ariz. -- A service for Mary S. "Marian" Thompson, 87, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at the Evergreen Mortuary.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

She died at her home on Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.

Born May 27, 1919, in Elk Mountain, S.D., to Harry and Bonnie (Roby) Smith, she was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1938.

She and her late husband, Merritt J. "Tommy" Thompson, who predeceased her on March 21, 2005, lived in Linch for 32 years.

In 1982, they moved to Apache Junction, Ariz. They later settled in Tucson.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Ron Thompson and his wife of Riverton, and Stanley Thompson and his wife of Tucson; three granddaughters; one step-grandson; one step-granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
