Evelyn Lucille RAGAN Morse 1919 - 2012 SHS 1938

Evelyn L. Morse, 92, of Great Falls, died of a lengthy illness Wednesday, May 30, at a local care facility.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to S p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Croxford Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at Manchester Cemetery. Croxford Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Evelyn was born June 16, 1919, in Gillette, Wyoming, where she spent her childhood with her parents and brothers Bill and Leo.

In 1941, she married Paul A. Morse in Billings. During WWII, while Paul was serving with the Army Signal Corps in Japan and the South Pacific, Evelyn worked at Gore Field. Later, she worked at Lowery-Andretta Insurance Co., and then was a secretary at the First Presbyterian Church. She was a legal secretary for Church, Harris, Johnson & Williams before retiring. Later, she was involved in activities as a Master Gardener, and belonged to the Friendship Force, the Investment Club, the Red Hat Society, and earlier, the Eastern Star. She volunteered for many years at the Manchester Cemetery. She was a Deacon and an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church.

Her hobbies included reading, gardening, friends, travel, and going to the cabin at Seeley Lake. Family and friends were very important in her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula M. Wetzsteon (Sterling), of Sula, Mont, and Thousand Oaks, Calif.; her sons Larry Morse of Dallas, Texas and Tom Morse, of Vancouver, Wash.; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nephews; and many, many friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers William A. Ragan and Leo Ragan; and her husband, Paul A. Morse.
