MILES CITY - MELNECK, Michael James, 65, died Wednesday at the Veterans' Medical Center.

Service 2 p.m. Saturday, Sheridan Cemetery, Sheridan, Wyo.; cremation has taken place.

Born and raised in Cody, Wyo. Served in World War II.

Married Rosalie Hamilton in 1940 in Sheridan.

Worked for Woolworth's stores for 45 years; managed stores in Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming and Kansas.

Survivors: wife; son, Michael Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughters, Nancy Thomas of Great Falls, Ginger Kiel of Miles City and Vicki Bates of Houston, Texas; brother, Joe of Sheridan; sisters, Sherri Rulli of Billings, Catherine Harker of Sheridan, Francis Steele of Willows, Calif., Emma Swark of Paso Robles, Calif., and Mary Denton of Sacramento; nine grandchildren.
