Cecil N. Lupton of Sheridan passed away at the Sheridan V.A. Medical Center on Tuesday, June 20, 2001, at the age of 82.

Mr. Lupton was born on June 6, 1919, at his parent's home on Ash Creek in Sheridan County, Wyoming, to Frank and Alice (Van Gordor) Lupton. He graduated from Sheridan High School, and later married Dora De Lapp on June 18, 1947, at the ranch home of Roy and Eunice Williams in Sheridan County, Wyoming.

Cecil loved hard work, both on the ranch and during his working years at the Sheridan V.A. Medical Center. He enjoyed spending time with people, old and young, especially his family. He also spent many years on the Tongue River school boards. Cecil's non-working hours were spent fishing, working with cattle and horses, gardening, reading, puzzles, card playing, recycling aluminum cans, cutting firewood, and most of all spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Farm Bureau. He was a naval hospital corpsman during World War II.

Preceding Cecil in death were his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and two sons Rex and Marvin.

He is survived by his wife Dora of Sheridan; four children, Jaci Austin of Ranchester, Wyoming, Jean Ostermyer of Banner, Wyoming, Ray Lupton of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Ed Lupton of Laramie, Wyoming; one sister Oriel States of Sheridan, Wyoming; twelve grandchildren, Janet Austin, Ray Austin, Lea Koenig, Kim Ostermyer, Michelle Cory, Dan Cory, Fran Smith, Paul Lupton, Melanie Brown, Stacy Schneider, Perizada Buchanan and Jory Lloyd; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held at Kane Funeral Home at 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2001. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2001, at the Big Horn Avenue Church of Christ with Charlie Spray officiating. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
