SHERIDAN -- Funeral service for Stella E. Davis, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with George Tellez officiating. Interment will be in the Elks section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Sept. 28, 2007, at her residence.

She was born May 11, 1919, in Dietz, to Gregary "Gus" and Anna (Bartis) Kumor. She grew up and attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1938.

She married Howard W. Davis on Dec. 23, 1943, in San Francisco. While in San Francisco, she worked in a drug store. She also worked at the Cloverleaf Bakery and at Sheridan Manor.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Does and was a past member of Kendrick Golf Course.

She enjoyed gardening, artwork, playing golf and camping. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Fred Davis of Sheridan; two daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Sheridan and Sandy Kinnaird of Banner; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Michael John Davis, two brothers and five sisters.

Memorials may be made to Holy Name Parish, 260 East Loucks St., Sheridan, 82801 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
