OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - December 9 2005

Former Sheridan resident Annabelle Johnson Brown, 85, of Woodville, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, in Woodville following a long illness.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service took place in Woodville, and a celebration of her life is planned later in Sheridan.

Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Alexandria, Ind., to Lester and Hilda (Pherson) Johnson. The family moved to Sheridan in 1927, and Mrs. Brown graduated from Sheridan High School in 1938.

She was active in church and enjoyed knitting, golf, needlepoint and the company of her dog, Sammy. She knitted blankets for hospitals and nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include four sisters, Deloris Sammantino of Billings, Ginger Horner of Missoula, Mont., and Joyce Verley and Billie Bethurem, both of Sheridan; and a brother, Skip Johnson of Sheridan.
