Gladys Ida HOLBERT Palmer 1920 - 1993 SHS 1938

RANCHESTER - Memorial services for Gladys Ida Palmer, 73, of Ranchester, will be conducted later this summer.

Mrs. Palmer died June 23, 1993, at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan.

She was born April 23, 1920, in Wagner, S.D., the daughter of John E. and Stella May (Heller) Holbert. The family moved to Sheridan where she grew up and graduated high school in 1938.

In 1943, she married Lynton "Lynn" Palmer in Yuma, Ariz. While he was in the service, Mrs. Palmer worked at an aircraft plant in California.

She worked for the Sheridan Press for 23 years in delivery and Circulation.

She enjoyed sports of all kinds and was involved in many activities.

Survivors include her husband of Ranchester; three sons, John L. of Parkman, Charles R. of Sheridan, and George L. of Ranchester; and four brothers, Charles E. of Lander, Claude L. of Hardin, Mont., Verlan G. and John E. Holbert, both of Sheridan. Also surviving are a sister, Elta Moreland of Big Timber, Mont.; four granddaughters, one grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

The Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
