Lawrence "Larry" J. HOBEIN 1919 - 1998 SHS 1938

SHERIDAN - Cremation has taken place for Lawrence "Larry" J. Hobein, 78, who died July 1, 1998, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

He was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Model, the son of Elwyn and Lenora (Ventling) Hobein. He was a 1938 graduate of Sheridan High School.

During World War II, he was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in England.

On Feb. 6, 1943, he married Madge Slater In Hazel Grove, England.

Starting as a warehouse manager at Acme Power Plant, he worked his way to senior purchaser for Stearns Rogers.

He and his wife traveled worldwide before retiring and moving to Sun City, Ariz,

He was awarded a lifetime membership to the Purchasing Managers Association and enjoyed golf, photography and travel.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Dale Sickel of Sheridan and Byron Hobein of Anchorage, Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
