One time Sheridanite Lyla Lucile Grimshaw Murdent, 80, of Salem, Ore., died Jan. 10, 2001.

Services and interment were private.  Arrangements were by City View Funeral Home.

Mrs. Murdent was born April 22, 1920, in Westby, N.D., to William and Ragnhild Grimshaw.

The family moved to Sheridan when she was young, and she grew up and attended schools here.

She married Donald Murdent in 1945.  She worked in sales and health care and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1986, and by a brother, Russell Grimshaw of Sheridan and a sister, Grace Chatham.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Wordelman of Astoria, Ore., Diane Stebbins of Woodburn, Ore., and Donna Swenson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Esther Meredith of Palm Springs, Calif., Nancy Hebrew of Santa Rosa, Calif., Fern Hancock fo Yuba, Calif., and Jean Brent of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Bob Grimshaw of Modesto, Calif.; three grandchildrren; and two great-grandchildren.
