Charlene E. Bard, 81, of Sheridan died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Kane Funeral Home with Paddy Bard officiating. Mrs. Bard was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Sheridan to Harold and Elsa (Spear) Edwards. She was a 1938 graduate of Sheridan High School.

She moved to Seattle during World War II. She married Donald M. Bard Nov. 7, 1955, in Sheridan. They owned and operated Story Stables and ran a dude fishing camp at Beaver Lakes in the Big Horn Mountains for 20 years. She also was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Lois McCroskey and Virginia Carapella. Survivors include a stepson, Don Bard Jr. of Imlay, Nev.; two sisters, Elise Boston of Snohomish, Wash., and Marilyn Bilyeu of Berthoud, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
