Nancy Adair BROWN Hayes 1920 - 1991 SHS 1938

BIRNEY - Nancy Adair Brown Hayes, 71, lifelong Birney resident, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 1991, in the Sheridan County Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, Wyo.

Mrs. Hayes was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Miles City, the daughter of Joseph Taliferro and Willie B. (Powell) Brown.

She was raised in Birney, attended schools there and also received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

On Jan. 27, 1943, she was united in marriage to Dr. Arthur F. Hayes at the Three Circle Ranch in Birney.

Mrs. Hayes was engaged in ranching with her husband at the Three Circle Ranch at Birney, where she resided until her death.

She was a generous and compassionate lady and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her commitment and unselfish love for her family and the entire Birney community shall serve as the finest example to those who survive her. Mrs. Hayes' strength and faith in her long fight with cancer was unsurpassed, and she will be remembered by all with love and the greatest respect.

Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Montana Stockgrowers Association, the National Cattlemen's Association, and Birney Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband on Sept. 27, 1985

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 1991, in Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Dan Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in the Elks Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Hayes may be made to the Birney Community Church or the charity of the donor's choice, co Mary Lee Corley, First Interstate Bank of Commerce, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, Wyo.
