Bernett BOHNSACK Sieweke 1920 - 2015 SHS 1938

Bernett Sieweke, 95, of Sheridan, passed away at Sugarland Ridge on Saturday, October 10, 2015.

She was born in Sheridan, WY on October 1, 1920 to Fred and Catherine Bohnsack, youngest of five children who are all deceased. They lived in Birney, MT for many years. The family later moved to Sheridan on a ranch up Murphy Gulch and Bernett graduated from Sheridan High School in 1938.

She met Harvey Sieweke when she was 15 and they married October 18, 1938. Bernett then moved to the Sieweke ranch on Prairie Dog Creek where Harvey lived. She lived and worked on the ranch for over 70 years. Bernett did not move into Sheridan until January of this year.

Bernett was active in many organizations, PTA Mother Singers, PTA, Friendship Chapter #51 of Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, and Farm Bureau. She helped organize the Prairie Dog Women's Club and the building of the Community club house in 1946. She was also a charter member of Does #127 of Sheridan and past president. Bernett was active in the Wyoming Cattle Women Assoc. and a 4-H leader with her girls for many years. She attended the First United Methodist Church. Bernett enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and painted oil paintings.

Bernett was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey in January 2000.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara Millard of Longview, WA and Cathy (Jim) Larson of Joshua Tree, CA; five grandchildren, who thought the world of her, Mark Millard, Mardee Lundeen, Richard Larson, Tanya Lippen, and Grant Larson; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her cousin Catherine Langlois.

Her family is grateful to her niece, Jeanne Legocki and Family and friend, Ann Custis for looking out for her the last 15 years.

At Bernett's request there will be a graveside service where she and Harvey will be buried by her folks in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery in the summer of 2016. A reception will follow at the Elks Club.
