SHERIDAN --Funeral Liturgy for H. Walter Salveson, 90, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ronald Stolcis as Celebrant.

A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Ronald Murray officiating.

He died on June 24, 2008, in Sheridan Manor.

He was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Pony, Mont., to Pete and Josephine (Walter) Salveson. He grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1937.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II.

He married Lucy Destefano on Nov. 11,1950, in the Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan.

He was a mechanic for many years, working for Cook Ford Sales and later Hammers, Inc. before retiring in 1983.

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, and the Sheridan Elk's Lodge, #520.

He enjoyed traveling in the couple's motor home and trips to the mountains, but he especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy, of Sheridan; two daughters and their spouses, Nancy Nelson, and Marty Harker, both of Sheridan; brother, Jim Salveson, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; sister, Josie Barrett, of Billings, Mont.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete Salveson, Jr., and sister, Hazel Davis.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
